Ayurveda

Sri Lanka Ayurveda is one of the worlds oldest forms of medicine, it is believed to have originated 3,000 years ago in India. This ancient holistic healing system works by harmonising the mind, body and spirit and promoting good health to prevent diseases rather than finding cures to illnesses.

The branch of Ayurveda native to Sri Lanka has been passed on through generations of druids, known as ‘weda mahaththaya(s)’ and ancient kings. It involves medicine that are hand-made using various concoctions of rare herbs and spices. Aside from their medicinal benefits, there are many Ayurvedic treatments aimed at relaxation. These include massages, facials, baths, holistic healing etc.
